Oliver Kumbambe made a mistake because the Police Band previously followed Bingu wa Mutharika to the convention and other party functions as President of Malawi not as party president.
It was a party function, yes, but Mutharika is first and fore most President of Malawi and the party comes second.
Mutharika deserves respect from everybody in Malawi, including the Inspector General of Police.
